Absolutely, and I say that with conviction. Law and politics cannot be separated, especially in a country facing real economic stress. When the rupee’s value affects daily wages, food prices, and livelihoods, it becomes a justice issue. Lawyers who stay silent in the face of systemic injustice are not neutral, they are complicit. Bar associations, legal aid clinics, public interest litigation, these are all forms of political participation. Lawyers have a unique skill set that, when used for public good, can genuinely move the needle. I believe we have not just a right but a duty to be part of that conversation.
